Relief.....

So Laurelle had her surgery today - she was scheduled for 8 a.m and wasn't done until 3:45 p.m.

She was a trooper. She was nervous for a few days prior to the surgery because she wasn't a fan of having an epidural, a line through her wrist or tube through her nose....

I waited for her to be transferred to the post-op room, and she was talking, etc. She was totally with it, but sore and exhausted. She mentioned that she didn't like the tube in her nose, but since she can't vomit on her own, they have to make sure that the bile is being sucked out of her stomach until her digestive system kicks in again. The tumor was further down than they anticipated, but they managed to get it all. They stated that there were no other cancerous tissues/organs that were visible to the naked eye. Of course, they have to wait for the results to come back from the biopsy again to confirm this.

I am very happy and very relieved. She's doing well so far. I will be going back to visit tomorrow.

Thanks for all the well wishes, and for all of the prayers that you have said in her name.

I'll update again soon....until then, some sleep.
