Weekend Update

Sorry for the abrupt post yesterday - I was given the news 3 minutes before I left one job for the other. I had to update something fast so that people reading this blog would know one way or the other.

So yes, the news is shitty, but I have full faith that Laurelle will pull through.

Here is what I know so far:

• Surgery to take place sometime in the next week.
• They will remove the tumor and a bit of her liver and stomach (to make sure they have isolated the cancer)
• Recovery for this surgery will be at least 3-4 weeks in the hospital and 4-6 weeks at home
• 1 in 3 people will have complications following the surgery
• Not sure what will come after that - radiation or chemotherapy - she'll have to cross that bridge when she comes to it.
• She is in good spirits and wants me to bring her a hair band, some mousse and a Marie Claire magazine. She thinks her hair looks like a "fro". This is a good sign of her attitude.

Thanks for the emails and phone calls. This truly is a crappy thing, but people beat cancer all the time.

She will too.
